There are definitely some that don't need it and I think it should be avoided if possible, but if the series title is a character name or a single noun it has utility.
Slapping it on every franchise just makes things needlessly long and clunky.

It was already rejected and I don't feel strongly one way or the other, but again this is not how this qualifier is used in most cases.
