Doppelganger tag, redundant?

Posted under General

The wiki for doppelganger states:

• a remarkably similar double; a lookalike,
• an apparition or ghostly double of a living person; especially one that haunts such a person,
• the opposite side of a personality; an alter ego; an evil twin,
• a person who has the same name as another; an imposter, or
• a monster that takes the forms of people, usually after killing them.

I feel like all of these are better covered by other tags, like look-alike, name connection, and dark persona. Wouldn't it be preferable to nuke the tag after ensuring the correct tags are in its pics?

What about this part?

Narberal Gamma, Doppelganger (Monster Girl Encyclopedia) & Doppel (Monster Musume) comes to mind.

Doppel isn't actually a doppelganger, and none of those characters have physical traits indicative of being a doppelganger, and I'm not even sure what that would entail. Without visually identifiable physical traits, the tag is essentially just canon padding.

To me, the most useful a tag like this could be is for use on posts where the context makes it clear that one of the lookalikes/clones is some sort of impersonator. Any other use I can think of would just be canon tagging.
