It's still all speculation however, we don't really know what's canon until the manga gets far enough, or until the novel and/or anime get underway.

It has been somewhat shown in the manga with Isuzu's shadow turning into one of the Ho-class cruisers. Given that it's still speculation fuel as to the origin of the Abyssal Fleet until more information is given on the subject.
