Silly girl, your guns can't blast Nagato directly... right?
Not with those pop-guns. Need 20cm cannon at minimum to do much of anything to Nagato even at close range. The torpedoes on the other hand, might have an effect. But Nagato was built very well.

Actually Nagato was kind of built like crap and then crudely bodged up over the next two decades. She started building before various lessons from WWI had been fully appreciated and came out as sort of a hodgepodge between old and new that was already behind the times when built. Her deck was way too thin, she still had a graduated armor scheme, and was riddled with hull mounted casemates of highly dubious value and a somewhat inadequate TDS. Her best feature was her machinery which gave an impressive bit of speed for the era, but structurally she was actually rather poor as built.
The various refits improved the situation somewhat, but large gaps and issues remained as most of the up-armoring focused on trying to shore up magazine protection. The protection of her machinery was basically never increased and was rather bad for her displacement with the deck in particular being shockingly weak by the time of WWII. It was of a material not even considered armored grade by then and it was much too thin rendering her extremely vulranble to plunging fire and bombs amidships.

Although IMHO, she looked decent during 1921 tho. Crap but she was still the more reasonable superdread(?) they had since Fuso and Ise to them went very much sideways (although in WoWS, they're in-line as if their issues did not exist at all).
Speaking of her though, didn't Nagato take punishment herself? iirc she took a couple of bombs but still had her integrity intact... mostly.
Bu against a light cruiser built around the same era?
There's a difference between "crap for a battleship" and "crap". For whatever weaknesses Nagato had, they were nowhere near anything a Sendai-class could exploit to any meaningful advantage, aside from getting really, REALLY lucky with a torpedo broadside. Sendais had 5.5 inch guns, which are basically what they had on destroyers. With those guns, she could, at best, pop a few into Nagato's radar and searchlights during a night battle and hope Nagato couldn't find her in the dark, because she's certainly not punching through even weak armor with those. She does have 8 torpedo tubes, but only one reload, and she'd need to make every one of them count to have a prayer. Even a badly-built battleship (outside of Kongou) can take a torpedo or four and keep on sailing.
Thanks for the hard work.Oh.Come to think of it, it has been a long time since I've gone drinking with the Admiral. I'll give inviting him a try, shall I?♡Admiral! When your cannons are pointing this way...How about it? It's been a while since we went drinking, the two of us...What is it?!
Nagato-san!
If you have business with the Admiral, you need to go through me first!Hey Nagato! You've returned, huh?
