You can have Xenoblade Chronicles 3 and Pokemon S/V side-by-side and you'll see that yes, Switch CAN make that level of graphics work, even with a ton of individual entities on screen. It's Gamefreak and Pokemon Company's decision to leave it as bare-bones as they could until it's barely above 'hmm, good enough, we can release this' line and the rabid fans that continue buying won't help the problem.

Not to mention Breath of the Wild and Mario Odyssey. Two great visual games that was for the LAUNCH of the Switch. So GameFreak have literally no excuses.
