I'm not sure but I have to guess how it's how slow the manga is in getting a new chapter (eg.it used to be a new chapter once a month, now it's a new chapter every 3 months). Plus i think some fans are upset the artist isn't portraying the characters the way they want who instead portrays them according to the writer, who works with Mica Team, the creators of Girls Frontline.

Also changes to the story that some folks didn't like, like changing post #6218467 so that moment basically doesn't happen, or having one of the manga-original human commanders be involved with Operation Cube, the event that's supposed to show why Griffin would hire outsiders like Squad 404 to handle some business for them, as well as having some sillier additions, like giving Kryuger a Doom Slayer-style suit for combat.
And most of all, there was the incident about threeyearsago, when Miharu/Ling (artist and writer are one and the same) received a kindly community-written letter from the EN lore community, where she deflected the criticism she received for her writing and changes (which some in the community expected, following similar responses towards the CN and KR communities), emphasizing her vision for especially Gentiane as the 'lazy genius' archetype which folks think does not work in the context of GFL at all, and leads to unfavorable changes in order to continue justifying the archetype. And folks weren't hopeful given she brought up FGO as an example of allowing herself to stretch her creative muscles and not to a straight adaptation.

so basically a bunch of EN nerds trying to enforce they vision on something they have no real say on cool

in my opinion the only reliable source of story is the game itself, the animations and manga... i didnt even try, i KNEW this would end up happening to some extent.
the justification of "oh its made by me, therefore it shall be made how i want it to be" is utter bullshit. you simply just dont respect the source material and think your perspective is superior. "but it has to accommodate actual characters" more bullshit, you dont have to utterly destroy an already existent narration to conform to the way you write something. if you have to this, sorry to say it, but your skills are lacking.
when you're asked to work on top of something that's already mostly set, you dont conform it to you, you conform to it, its like being hired for a job, and then trying to have the workplace mold itself to satisfy you.
Isn't Ling/Miharu a guy? I remembered reading a translated tweet that he apologize for the manga's delay due to several unfortunate incidents in real life like COVID including he and his wife attending his father-in-law's funeral in the countryside.

I remember reading something years ago that suggested that they were a girl, but honestly, I probably should've double-checked for my comment. If I got that wrong, I'd like to apologize.
