Latin: Balaeniceps rex Japanese: ハシビロコウ Hashibirokou; meaning "wide bill stork"
Shoebill is a very large grey bird native to Africa.
It is well-known for standing motionless while hunting as well as its massive bill. As it achieved popularity as "the motionless bird" in Japan, its menacing eyes became the topic in internet communities. Though it is listed as endangered, it is often humorously considered as a "dangerous person" and called Hashibirokou-san. (Mr. Shoebill)
