Friendly reminder to all commanders that one must not neglect their T-Dolls for extended periods of time, loneliness is a horrible feeling and may greatly affect the digiminds of the dolls in question, so do make sure to comfort them whenever you return, maybe even treat them to some cake as long as it uplifts their spirits.

I had my AK-47, P7 and A3G just getting dust in the armory, so I just dismantled them. I felt bad for my dolls that doesn't see the sunshine because they doesn't fit in one of my echelons, even in the ones that I use for logistics. Hopefully, those dismantled dolls actually work in the café near the base, like the fandom often portrays.
It's the same when I played Pokemon: I used to catch those that I didn't had in my Pokedex and just released those that I wasn't going to use.

They actually touch on this in chapter 5: I think it is M16A1 who says that if ST AR-15 was dismantled, the next time they would get to see her would be "in the cafe or in the mines". So, half true, assuming she wasn't joking.
Yes and no, All T-dolls except most of the 5* T-dolls, are converted Civilian A-Dolls, Dismantling, or rather "Retiring" lorewise, is basically stripping the doll of their fire control core and returning them to civilization away from combat, as they're no longer needed in the field of battle or so on, its also why the game itself literally says for the dolls to prepare their resumes in the dismantling screen. In the end its up to the players interpretation as to what the girls do when you retire them, originally i just thought they where literally dismantled, coming from Kancolle (was a frontliner for 3 years believe it or not), thats what i thought, but after playing for 2 years, i see it as them having their fire control cores being stripped from them.
